Race officer Harold Martin had an almost perfect day for the start of the Saturday Spring Pursuit Series at Flushing Sailing Club with wall to wall sunshine and force 3 winds.

Yachts had to beat out to Castle buoy and then two reaches to the line. The second round was shortened allowing crews to finish in good time to enjoy tea in the clubhouse.

Tuesday 13th April

Paul Ferris and the committee boat team made a good race in rather poor conditions. A feeble breeze from the south turned north just before the start. Courses had to be quickly changed resulting in a running start. Sadly Jethro and Longshot began racing the original course to their disadvantage!

The wind filled in later making the course short but enjoyable.

Report on Flushing Sailing Club races  Saturdays 17th April  & 24th &Tuesday 20th April 2010

On Friday at Flushing Sailing Club the `G` class - gaffers held a succesful social evening with an excellent meal, Tina Rangecroft, who organised the event, together with the class representative Sue Grigg made sure the Skippers, crew and new prospective crew started the season off with a swing, this class is going from strength to strength with several new boats to frighten the regular winners!

The 1st Tuesday Series is proving  interesting with more boats than usual  competing at this time of year.  We have the J24s now in Q class sailing IRC and doing very nicely thank you lying 2nd and 3rd overall, In `E` class Hawk (C.Bell) could do no wrong, they reckoned flawless team work meant the boat sailed like a well oiled machine, watch this space for the rest of the season then!! Amnerris (PHackett) made a very unusual mistake for him being over the line at the start, however he still managed to sail his very competeitive Hustler to 2nd place. `Grace ` looked graceful!! and the first Large working boat out with D Tregaskis now in control a fitting memory for his Uncle Charles Jefferies. In the Sunbeams L Hesling in `Pixy`  is on the water for every race available and I think now feels he understands the creature a litte better certainly the results for the Spring Series support this.

This  series was only 3 races this year and as a pursuit race had a good range of boats on the water.   The overall results were again very encouraging for the J24`s
